Brita Water Filters have been officially recognised as contributing to the fight against the rising problem of tooth decay in Australia by the Australian Dental Association Inc.
The Australian Dental Association (ADA) recommends the use of Brita Water Filters insofar as they do not remove fluoride from tap water*.
In recognising Brita’s technology which is able to retain fluoride in the tap water, while filtering out impurities, Mr Robert Boyd-Boland, Chief Executive of the ADA said, “Tooth decay is on the rise particularly with children who for their regular fluid intake are turning to bottled water, flavoured water and sports drinks which do not contain fluoride. Fluoridated tap water is widely recognised as the best possible solution to reducing tooth decay.”
While many people are aware of what Brita filters take out, they do not realize that they retain the fluoride. The ADA recognition now gives the public total confidence that when they drink tap water filtered by Brita, they are doing themselves a great service in dental decay prevention.
