I. Conditions of use:

 1.    Links:

BRITA GmbH web sites also contain links to other suppliers' web sites. On first link up the external site was checked for illegal content. BRITA is not responsible for external content that can be reached via such links. If BRITA GmbH finds out or is informed that a site contains illegal content, this link will be removed if this is technically possible and reasonable.
 2.   Using our web site:

The information contained on the BRITA GmbH web site is protected under copyright laws. BRITA GmbH allows all content on its web site to be viewed and downloaded strictly for private, non-commercial use. The content may not be reproduced, exhibited, distributed or otherwise used for public or commercial purposes. The content may not be changed and used on other Internet sites or networked computers without BRITA GmbH's written permission. When copying the content your attention is expressly drawn to BRITA GmbH's copyright and ownership rights. Infringing these conditions will lead to the immediate destruction of all printed or downloaded content. We reserve the right to claim further damages.

BRITA GmbH regularly checks discussion forums, chat rooms etc. on the web site without being obliged to do so; it therefore can accept no responsibility or liability for the content of communications forums. Users of the web site are forbidden to use these for illegal or criminal conduct or to display or distribute illegal and/or offensive material on them. BRITA GmbH reserves the right to delete impermissible content without further ado. Furthermore BRITA GmbH reserves the right to bar users who infringe these conditions of use from using the services offered on the web site. BRITA GmbH would like to point out that users' contributions to the web site do not reflect BRITA GmbH's views.
 3.   Downloading:

Programmes are downloaded at your own risk. BRITA GmbH accepts no liability for damage caused from installing and/or using software from the download area. In spite of up-to-date virus checkers we accept no liability for damage and harm caused by computer viruses within legal regulations.
   4.    Warranty and liability:

The information on our web site has been compiled with the greatest care. Similarly, BRITA GmbH takes great trouble to ensure that the information on the web site is up to date. BRITA GmbH however gives no guarantee that it is complete or suitable for specific purposes. The information provided on the web site is used at the user's sole risk.

BRITA GmbH's liability from or in connection with the use of the web site, for whatever legal reason, is restricted to damage that BRITA GmbH or its agents or employees have caused with malice intent, with gross negligence or, if infringing essential contractual obligations, slight negligence. In cases of slight negligence BRITA GmbH's liability is restricted to the typical, foreseeable damages with comparable matters of this type. Damages relating to guarantees or under the Product Liability Act remain unaffected.

If while using the services offered on the web site you make your mobile number and/or e-mail address generally available, please note that BRITA GmbH is not responsible for the consequences resulting from this, in particular receiving unwanted calls and/or e-mails etc.
 5.    Trademark rights:

BRITA GmbH is the owner of all the trademarks used on the BRITA GmbH web site. Third parties are not allowed to use and apply any of the trademarks, logos and identifying marks.


II. Data protection conditions:

 1.  General:

We confirm that we will deal with your personal details responsibly. Therefore we should like to inform you that your personal details will be stored in automated files and will be processed and used accordingly to process your order in compliance with the national and international data protection regulations in force. As BRITA GmbH or as a BRITA Group company, we would like to make your data available to other BRITA companies for advertising purposes. We shall only save your data and use it within our company for advertising purposes if you give your express permission for this. To do this, anywhere on the web site where personal data are retrieved you have the option of giving your agreement. You can withdraw your permission at a later data by sending us an e-mail or a letter. Normally BRITA GmbH does not require you to enter any personal details in order to use the web site. This means that the web site can be called up without the need to register first.
 2.  Confidentiality declaration:

BRITA GmbH guarantees that your details will be kept confidential. BRITA GmbH does not intend either now or in the future to sell, pass on or market personal details to third parties. If you have given your express permission before the data are collected BRITA GmbH or one of its authorised service providers will save and process your personal details when using the web site. BRITA GmbH would particularly like to draw your attention to the fact that children's personal details will not be used or saved without a parent's or guardian's permission.
 3.  Cookies:

"Cookies" are small text files that make it easier to use our online offers. Unless it is strictly necessary for specific applications our cookies do not contain any personal information so that your privacy remains protected. Most web browsers accept cookies automatically. But you can change your browser's settings to prevent this.
 4.  Security:

BRITA GmbH places a very high value on the security of your files. Users' data transmitted over the Internet to BRITA GmbH are only protected if the address line begins with  ouse://www.brita.net. The data transfer is then securely protected from unauthorised reading by third parties by the SSL (Secure Socket Layer) security procedure together with 128 bit encoding. If this option has not been activated, you must realise that when sending other personal information over the Internet using other applications, even e-mail, for example, it is not a secure connection in the above sense.
 5.  BRITA Group:

The conditions of use apply to using BRITA Group web sites. They also apply to using BRITA Group company web sites. BRITA GmbH alone is entitled to the trademark rights mentioned in sub-section I.5.


BRITA GmbH will always keep these conditions of use up to date.
