The Power of Visualisation            Dr Lily for video

Perhaps the most powerful tool to health and happiness lies within the workings of your mind. Your brain holds the position of the primary controller of the rest of your body and how you learn to use it effectively can be an important factor in achieving ongoing wellness.

In this day most people will have had some experience of visualisation techniques. While often presented in a New Age or mystical light, the art of visualisation, imagining positive scenarios in order to replicate your intent in reality has much scientific merit in brain research.  From a conventional point of view, brain research has established that when you visualise, many of the brain areas associated with the ‘real’ event you are imagining work in exactly the same way as if you were actually participating in the event.

This means that to a certain extent you can achieve health, happiness and even training benefits (music, sport’s performance etc) from visualisation. There is no limit to what, in fact, you may choose to visualise, depending upon your goals, nor is there any magic to the process, although a little reading and certainly practicing the art of visualisation itself will be extremely helpful.

In summary, visualisation should be seen no different to any other wellness tool.  It is simply another technique that can be added to diet, exercise, relaxation and, of course, clean filtered water, in contributing to your achievement of ongoing health and happiness.
